Accessibility Statement
We want every customer to browse, learn, and order. Whatever tools they use to get online.
Our commitment
Seffla is committed to making seffla.com usable for everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or screen magnification. Accessibility is part of how we build and review the site.
The standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. The benchmark referenced by accessibility law in Canada (the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Accessible Canada Act), the United States (Section 508 and ADA practice), and the European Union (the European Accessibility Act).
What we've done
The site supports full keyboard navigation, visible focus outlines, a skip-to-content link, semantic headings and landmarks, labelled form fields, ARIA roles for interactive widgets such as search and menus, sufficient colour contrast, and text that reflows when zoomed or viewed on small screens. The interface is available in English, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Hindi.
Applying for a job at Seffla
We aim for the same standard in hiring as on the rest of the site. Building the job listings and the application form, we used standard form controls rather than custom ones, gave every field a visible label, tied each error message to the field it belongs to, avoided using colour on its own to carry meaning, and included no timer of any kind. These pages have not yet been tested with a screen reader or other assistive technology, and they have not been independently audited, so we are not claiming they meet the standard. Only that this is what we aimed for and what we did.
Accommodation during recruitment
Accommodations are available on request for any part of our recruitment, assessment and selection process, including the materials used. If we ask you to complete a task as part of applying, we tell you this again at that point. This is a requirement of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and applies to employers of our size.
Alternative formats, without explaining why
You can complete the task in writing, as a voice note, over the phone, in person, or another way we arrange with you. You choose from a menu on the application form. You do not have to tell us why, we do not ask, and there is no field in our system that records a reason. If none of the options work, contact us and we will arrange something that does.
If we offer you a job, we will tell you at that point about accommodation for employees with disabilities. This is also an AODA requirement.
If something blocks you
Tell us and we will fix it, and we will make sure the barrier does not cost you the application. You do not need an account to reach us, and you do not need to explain why you are asking.
Known limitations
Accessibility is ongoing work. Some third-party documents such as supplier spec sheets and PDFs may not yet be fully accessible, and machine-translated content is labelled as such and reviewed over time. A formal third-party audit and a full manual screen-reader review are planned but not yet complete.
Tell us about a barrier
If there's anything on seffla.com you can't access, or you need information in another format, contact us and we'll help, and fix it. You don't need an account to reach us.
We review and update this statement as the site changes.
